Actually, the light does test a little more than that. If you disconnect the 
wiring from the PWDA, the light is not supposed to work any more. OTOH, it 
is probably more meaningful to use a VOM on the PWDA.

The Haynes manual includes directions for "re-centralizing" the shuttle 
hydraulically if the light does come on without pushing the button. It has 
worked for me. Sometimes takes a couple of iterations.
