"Puddling" to one extent or another was a fault of the blower's intake man. design. It often led to initial richness on acceleration after an extended period at idle. 

How much fuel pressure are you running?

These were made to go with the little pressure put out by the stock mechanical fuel pump on Sprites (stock SU elect. pump
on MGA's).

Make sure the needle valve
is shutting off fuel to the float bowl..and you can adjust to a lower level in the bowl.

Don't overdo this or the mixture can go
lean if the loud pedal is used over time ('til the pump "catches up").
