Wm. Severin Thompson wrote: "It was only the English speaking English 
that I had trouble understanding."

And the nerve of the English!  They say WE speak with an accent!!!!  As 
Churchill once wrote, we are "two great peoples separated only by a 
common language."

All seriousness aside, it is so strange to realize that the U.K. is 
about the same geographical size as California.  Yet they have such a 
myriad of different accents, from Scots to Georgie to Cockney to Welsh, 
and on and on.

Buster
