[Spridgets] Oil pick-up

Okay all knowing list,

When one straps the center main bearing cap on a 1275, what does that person
do about the oil pick-up?  Since one of the mounting points is on said
center main cap, does one simply drill the strap and modify the bracket?  Or
is there some other (better?) way to ensure that the oil pick-up is kept
secure and free of the under workings of the motor?
