[Spridgets] Hub nut size?

A used, NOS or second-hand nut might well turn out to be a different size 
from the one Moss or whoever else sells you - at least this is the case in UK 
which I discovered after sending back several nuts to several suppliers.

Are testicles known as nuts in the USA?
