[Spridgets] engine+trans oil seals

Hello to all;
I am new to the list.  I have been driving my 69 midget for the past 5 summers
and it's due for a refresh.
Does anyone have any experience with adding oil seals to the front of the
transmission and/or the rear of the engine?
The M*** cover for the transmission is a little too pricey and I see nothing
in there about a rear seal for the engine.
