I think that's irrelevant.  The fact is our cars were designed to  cover 
large mileages which might include being driven all day on not  particularly 
smooth roads with a lot of traffic, stopping starting and turning  corners.  To sit 
on a highway at a steady speed gives the car an easier  life than it was 
designed for.
