Finally the rain let up for a Sunday and I was able to get out for a mileage
test of the EFI Sprite.  I did a mostly level 126 mile drive on freeways
averaging 60-80MPH the whole way(mostly 5th gear).  Final mileage was computed
to be 28.2MPG.  I found out I love earplugs.
Cold starts are good, idle is excellent, power is great and my plugs were
picture perfect when I got home.  With the heater on, I never turned on the
electric fan and still the temp stayed below 165deg the whole way, even when
doing extended stretches of 75MPH.  I'd have to say the project was a complete
success.  Now the only thing remaining is to check the stability of the
system.  Will it prove to be dependable on a day to day basis?  Will it adjust
properly to changing condiditons of temperature, altitude, humidity?  Time
will tell.
The next phase of testing is to drive it every day for a few weeks without
touching a thing.  Unfortunately, the weather has been making this difficult.

My $25 door is all welded up and primered, waiting for a dry weekend to spray.
This time I did the welding without setting anything expensive on fire.  So,
good weekend.
