[Spridgets] 4th gear locked out.

I have a Rib cased gearbox behind a fresh 1275.  I have had the gearbox
rebuilt and it shifted into 4th when it was out of the car.  I put it in the
car and it will not go into 4th gear.  It feels like it hits a wall in the
shifter.  I pulled the side case and could not really fix a thing.  I yanked
the engine and gear box out of the car.  Of course that got me to fresh up the
bearings and rings, and rebuilt the head.  Low miles since last total rebuild,
but why not.  Anyway, the gearbox shifted into 4th outside the car.  I,
without much thought, guessed I put the shifter securing plate on wrong.  So I
put the springs in the holes on the side cover and stuck it back into the car.
The motor is running great.  It did eject 1/2 quart of oil onto the garage
floor after my first run.  I am thinking Crankcase ventilation and break in
blow by. It does seem to be getting better. NOW PROBLEM.  The gearbox wont go
into 4th gear again.  ANY IDEAS???  signed Desperate...
