but somewhat off-topic, this winter while riding with my master, we observed quite a few vehicles that suffered breakdowns due to a  collapsed front suspension. Saw one at speed. (Pretty interesting.) And these were not necessarily old vehicles. Ford, Chevy, Japanese...
