yeah , first off measure the crank.  and if it looks good from the machinist point of view then test assemble with the std bearings (if it's still an unturned casting) and use plastigage and check bearing clearances to see if it's going to assemble right and provide good oil pressure.   if not?  then turning to the next under size bearing would be the so called "fix" for proper tolerances.   but still check assembled tolerances to be certain the machinist did the job right rather than assembling it and asssssume it was done right only to find out the hard way it was not!
