Well, draw a north-south line through the middle of the US. Now draw an
east-west line through the middle of the US. Going Clockwise from New Joisey
you now have NE, SE, SW and NW. Anything north of the Mason-Dixon line is
NORTH. Anything east of the Mississippi is East - ergo, New Jersey and
Pennsylvania is the Northeast. I grew up in New York state on the
Pennsylvania border north of Scranton-Wilkes Barre and in the NYC area so I
do know something about the area.

By the way...  can you read this without all the punctuation marks?   ;-)
