Hello Leo,

It's not a travesty. It's HIS car. He bought it. He owns it.
It's his do do with as he pleases. While WE may not agree with
HIS vision, It's still his car......

I used to feel this way about guys who found old cars in barns
in near original condition, then chopped, channeled,
sectioned, and frenched 'em. ..... I now realize it doesn't
matter what I think is right all that matters is does the owner like
        it.

Bill, I've never had more ambivalent feelings on any topic than this. Three
guys who's opinions I value and respect as much as anybody's and whom I have
regular contact with are Ron Soave, Peter C and WST. I think we all have
similar opinions in some respects and maybe waver a bit in others.

Ron just missed buying an incredibly well done MGB GT with a V-8. Some
would consider that sacrilege. WST told me how it was a steal at well above
what it ending up selling for. If I had seen it for sale and didn't know
Ron was bidding on it, I would have bought it. Some people would cringe at
that car. I just bought a bunch of Aluminum V8s and trannies, etc. and will
put one in my wife's MGB. And I don't care what anybody thinks about that.

On the other hand, when I see a relatively rare and desirable car, I really
hope that it stays in a relatively stock, original state for those who
appreciate that. That just isn't always me. Sometimes, sometimes not. I
don't have a problem with a Bugeye with a 1275 and disc brakes, etc., but
really appreciate a dead stock BE. That's pretty cool, too.
