[Spridgets] TIps on reinstallation of recovered dash

I have an extra Bugeye dash hanging in the garage. Would it help if I did a
tracing of all the openings, bolt holes, etc.?

Thanks guys for the good tips on dash reinstall.

Now, more confusion on my part. This dash was a MKII dash originally and
I'm making it back into a Mk I. I, of course, want to make sure everything
is placed as it should be. So to that end, I looked in the AH Driver's
Handbook (printed in England and says applies to Mk 1 and II) and also cross
checked with the pic in Terry Horler's restorers guide. They don't agree!
The one in the Horler book admittedly is RHD (mine's not), but if I compare
the general layout with what's drawn in the AH Driver's Handbook (for Mk I
RHD) they are not the same.

Horler's dash, after the tach, shows only the starter, turn signal lever,
and chock across the top (from driver side over). The AH book shows
starter, heater, turn signal lever, Windscreen washer, and choke.

Across the bottom row in Horler it's heater, ignition/lights, wiper, and
windscreen washer. The AH book shows ignition/lights and wiper. Can anyone
clear this up please?

Second question - I'm also replacing the flasher unit in this car because
the old one has obvious overheat indications The terminal with the dark
green wire has the plastic cover (that covers the wire clip that attaches to
the flasher terminal) completely melted and has a brown burned tint to it.
Any ideas on what would have caused this to happen...before I just put a new
flasher unit in?

Thx, Mark
