[Spridgets] Not LBC......Both the Pontiac & Saturn end December 2009 .....I'm in mourning

Hah! Larry, we have more in common than our first name. When I was a punk
kid, my father foolishly allowed me to drive his 70 Bonneville with the 400
CID motor. Naturally, I gathered three of my most foolish car crazy buddies
and we took it out to see how fast it would go (as we always did with any
car we could get our hands on). We buried the 120 speedo and pegged it
around 130 long before we hit the bump in the road that popped the car up in
the air hard enough to make the fool in the back seat who didn't put on a
seatbelt hit his head really hard on the roof.

The car he had before that was a 65 Catalina with a 389 and tri-power and a
4.11 posi. I never had the privilege of beating that one as he bought the
70 within days of me getting my license.

I have no idea why I have lived to see this day.

Dad had Ponchos for a long, long time. He would have mourned the passing,
too.

FWIW, My dad owned Pontiacs for Years, My first drive over 100mph was in his
67 FIrbird (he never know, I hope). I trashed his 70's Grand Am playing
catch
with a dirt bike, When he passed last year he had a 05 Bonneville SSei. Dad
would be saddened to see Pontiac go.

lots of new Pontiacs coming and going, and with a few of them coming to live
in my family's garage. One of them, a '57 Star Chief (or was it a Super
Chief???)Safari wagon, special ordered by Mrs. Weaver (agency was Ray E
Weaver
Pontiac, in Etna, just outside of Pittsburgh) became my mom's all-time
favorite car, which we kept for many, many years and was the car in which I
passed my driver's license test in.

any time he took a LBC in on trade, it was brought home for my dad to play
with. So, at a very impressionable age, I got to ride around in some really
sweet MGs and Triumphs (never any Healeys taken in on trade :( and at least
one Jaguar. These trade-ins, which Mr. Weaver brought home for my dad to
play
with (he couldn't get my mom to go along with buying one, however) infected
me
with the sports car disease.....BIG TIME........and I've never recovered,
thank God.
