[Spridgets] Engine out!

It was British Leyland's answer to US safety requirements.
As others have pointed out, it is to keep the engine and transmission 
from becoming a missile in case of an accident.
Most other cars are designed to keep the engine from encroaching into 
the passenger compartment in an accident and thus saving the lives of 
said passengers.
Gotta love that British sense of humour (sp)!

I am wondering if anyone else has cable running from the right bottom 
bellhousing to the chassis near the transmission mount?  I assume it is 
a torque limiting device, but I did not find it in the books while we 
were working.
