[Spridgets] Weber DCOE vs OER DCOE

LOL.... :):)

..there are a lot of things it's possible to do that maybe we shouldn't do!! And as we gain experience over time, we're usually appreciative of the fact to one extent or another we survived and are still alive! :)

Now, seriously...

DCOE vs DCO.....

....according to Passini on Weber (I don't "know" mind you, just the messenger) "a DCO is not at all a DCOE".

Now.....he never explained ALL or any of the "differences" and I've no knowledge or experience with a DCO...so I've no real clue on this. I simply don't know, Daniel.

Hi Cap'n,

What I meant was: If it's a bad idea, which it is, why is it possible to
implement such a bad idea? For example the smallest size main venture you
can put in a 48DCOE is 40 (which is the max size for a 45DCOE), yet later
on when the 48DCOE was replaced with the 48DCO the smallest size main
venturi was 42. Also, on the 48 DCO (not sure about the 48DCOE) there is no
provision for a cold start device with the carb simply being cast smooth at
that point.

Too much "squeeze down" of inbound airflow....high airflow "drag" numbers
accordingly. I forget the exact name of this
type of "drag", but this effect also makes for less accuracy in metering
with respect to progression, jets, etc.

Basically, too much carb for the application.

Anything below 34mm chokes, better all-around flow velocities, etc. with
the smaller
40.

If you choke a 45 down to a 32 choke it generally flows less and doesn't
perform as well as 40 in the same size. That of course begs the question
why it's possible to choke down if it's a bad idea - I don't have an
answer.

They don't stock the OER
