I'm not on the Yahoo list so can't help you there.  For the autox
Spridget list, just do like I do when a friend wants to join: forward an email
from the list and tell him/her to follow the links at the bottom of the email.
Unless it's your dad (assuming he's like mine and a bit lacking in
computer/email skills) or something like that where you feel the need to hold
their hand through the process, they can generally bluff their way through. I
did, you did, chances are they can handle it too.
