[Spridgets] How can I determine if my 5-speed is good prior to installing it?

Short of doing a tear down of the trans, about all you can check is to look
at the magnetic plug and see if there are chunks of metal on it! Usually
parts of gear teeth!

The plug typically has some gray metallic "Fluff" on it and is usually OK.

old clutch disk and turn it in each gear? What do you look for prior to
installing a 5-speed without knowing that it's a good tranny?
