Subject: [Spridgets] History Channel Horsepower

The History channel is running a show called Horsepower. I believe it is
under the Modern Marvels catagory. I caught it on my Tivo last night.

Some very fascinating stuff. .

A major huge piston engine that is about as big as a small house used for
back up power. They show how the engine is built, from the rough castings
through to the end product.

They also go into the history of horsepower, how it was arrived at by way of
James Watts formula for the first steam engine. . and how the SAE visits
car companys to ensure that claimed HP ratings are accurate on new engine
designs while on the dyno.

A lot of different areas covered. .

Just thought I would mention if any of the group has not caught it yet.
