...and hook up the exhaust.  You can't tune the carbs with
the exhaust disconnected.

If you are running a little rich the of course you may get yellow fire out
of the manifold.

Double check that you've timed with #1 coming up and both valves are closed
on #1. Then double check that plug wires in the correct firing sequence in
the distributor cap. ...bill in corvallis

Ok the dizzy was 180 degrees out.I have set the static timing and  
replaced the distributor.Carbs are getting fuel,backfiring some.The  
exhaust is not hooked up except for the manifold.There appears to be  
yellow fire coming out of the manifold where it would be attached to  
the exhaust pipe.I suppose it could be the coil or a carb problem.Any  
suggestions?
