Well, this house was built in late 1966. It still has the original
avocado Maytag washer and dryer. Yeah, they were made in USA. 44 years
old and I can walk into the appliance store with a part in my hand and
the gal behind the counter rattles off the part number and walks back
with it by the time I get to the counter. I have no objection to
avocado as a color. They aren't perfect; the levelers for the washer
seized up long ago and it is getting tired; the dryer needed the gas
solenoid coils replaced for the second time in twelve years. OTOH,
they still work and I have no desire for new ones. Trish wanted new,
but so many people have told her about buying new  and having to
replace within five years that she has changed her mind.
