You need to use a nice BIG heavy hammer. I used a 5lb MFH with a 8" shaft to bang the wrench alternately right then left -- real hard!
Grip it close to the head and use wrist action. 
Your local professional parts house (not PepBoys but maybe NAPA) might have a square wrench
I picked mine up at a yard sale....

If the car is indoors you could even try an electric heat pad
