[Spridgets] thermostat in the south......

I'll start with the most affordable option.... thermostat, and go from there.
The radiator should be fine and the engine only has 800 miles on it, so I'm
thinking the cooling system should be clear. I checked the timing and it's ok
also.

It really doesn't matter what the thermostat opens at. If your
cooling
system will not keep the motor at 180 it sure won't keep it lower,
once
either thermostat opens they have the same size openings and will flow
all the coolant that can flow. Work on your radiator, a re-core is
highly
recommended - you can get a modern core that works way better put
in the rad.
