[Spridgets] Non Spridget - carpal tunnel surgery

Rick, my best advice is to find the best surgeon you can. Don't settle for
just anybody. Surgeons are like everybody else in that they come in all
different flavors and some are better than others. Two weeks ago I had
shoulder surgery and I got the same surgeon who screwed my Achilles back
onto my heel a few years ago. He is listed as one of the top 100 bone guys
in the country. Last year I had surgery on my ulnar nerve and got the
ex-chief neurosurgeon from the Mayo Clinic. Trust me, when you have
somebody cutting on you, you don't want second rate. There are times when
going for the best is worth it. This is one of those times.

BTW, the shoulder surgery I just had was to remove bone spurs that were
tearing up my rotator cuff. I wore a sling for about a day and a half,
never even filled my Rx for a pain killer and within three days was able to
move my arm full range in every direction. That's what getting the best
does for you. It's worth it.

Good luck to you.

I met with the surgeon this morning, after looking me over and looking at
the EMG report he had two questions:
How soon can you get in for surgery?
Which side would you like us to do first?

With the advances in microsurgery I am hoping to have a quick recovery.
Looks like I'll be spending a lot of quality time at home over the next
month.
Unfortunately I won't be able to do much with my cars, or likely anything
else.
Hopefully after it's all done I'll have more use from my hands once again.

I suppose some of you have had this done recently?
I wouldn't mind hearing about your experiences.
