[Spridgets] Re Renewable energy (off topic)

Also, suggesting that plants like Chernobyl were designed and built on a par
with Three Mile Island is just not true. Chernobyl was poorly designed and
badly constructed. The reason the TMI accident didn't hurt anyone or
contaminate the area was because of the quality of its design and
construction. As to the Fukushima plants, design and construction were
excellent. The disaster occurred because of loss of electricity to the
plants caused by a massive EQ and Tsunami. There are things which simply
can't be done in this world lest we become too arrogant as masters of our
environment!

I'd rather have some much safer form of energy, but what do we do for energy
until those technologies mature?

Cheers!!
