That's how I did it.  Make sure you get a good salt bath to chill
the ether bulb.

Clean the tubing well so the soldering is quick and reliable.

I bought the guage from Autozone.  The bulb is a perfect fit.

A friend/co-worker of mine found instructions online of how to take the
bulb/tube off a new cheap gauge and fix the old gauge.
