I prefer a single SU over Weber.

Be careful taking vacuum off a carb, some are "switched" or ported.
Probably better to take vacuum from the intake, I think.  If you have
a vacuum dizzy (and you should) then you would want to use it.

I think there are two kinds of electric choke:
1.  On/off that works like a solenoid and should be switched.
2. Takes 12V and heats an element that opens the choke after a short period.

Yours will probably be #2 and you can run the wire to the "+" terminal
on your ignition coil or better yet a fuse that is hot on ignition.

Down draft Webers aren't necessarily bad but SUs (especially singles)
can give better performance and mileage, IMHO, assuming both are
properly tuned.
