Yup, anything for a price.  Holden's C39 + earth #500 (~$786).  Very 
cool that they're making those but a little too rich for my blood.

I asked myself, as I always do, WWFD?  Frank would slap on a Delco or 
similar alternator and be done after a hour. It would take a while to 
switch terminals and mod the control box into a junction box, etc.

Believe me that's next on the list if this doesn't remain working.  It 
also mean capitulating to the problem which irks me to no end.  However, 
if it means I could be driving the car.....
