One engine that was high rev that comes to mind was the older Saturn back in the 90's and earyl 2000. You might scope it out to see if it would be a better option to use on a Sprite

Each is designed for a specific engine/application so will have alternator rpm to match engine rpm. Figure on an 8000 rpm engine in a road car - Honduh - to have a wide rpm range compared to the Sprite/Midget.
