I am going to run out a full tank to see if it becomes un-stuck before I drop the tank.Mike MacLean

My Bugeye does the same thing since putting in a new sending unit a number of years ago. Stays at the level it was prior to filling it full. Stays there until I drive it, then jumps up to full. Takes a few bumps. Must hang up. Bouncing the rear of the car by hand doesn't do it. John F

After 15 years, since the restoration I finally got my gas gauge working after dropping the tank to R & R the sending unit. Just this week I was down to a quarter of a tank and filled the tank back up. The needle stayed on the 1/4 mark and has not moved since. Any ideas what might cause this before I have to drop the tank again?Mike MacLean
