[Spridgets] Carb Question

 I just opened the float bowl on some new carbs and found that the plastic float almost hits the float bowl cover before closing the needle valve.  I do not think there is enough thread on the needle for enough washer shims to adjust the float to the proper position.  Has anyone had to deal with this and know of a solution?
