A YouTube series from Canada about a Bugeye restoration latest episode
addressed the windscreen to body rubber seal is supposed to be folded
backorder the windscreen.  He then took  piece of plastic and began shoving
the seal back under itself along the length of the windscreen.  This is the
first I have heard of this.  Anyone else do this with this rubber seal? In
ictures that showed the seal in Terry Horler's Original Sprite and Midget
the seal is not folded under itself.  Is this a Canadian thing?

 Of all the side curtain cars I've seen & dismantled , not one had that flap of weatherstrip folded up under the windshield.? There is a rubber seal that seals the frame to the cowel. The flap is both cosmetic & functional.??That's a new one on the "I'd never do that" list....ChuckFormerly " the world's largest sprite driver"

Never heard of such a thing before and never seen it on any Bugeye 
(perhaps I'm blind!).  I can imagine it being done if the panel under 
the windscreen is severly distorted but, a temporary fix for leaking 
under the screen is more probably a strip of black electrical insulation 
tape.  It was when the bonnet (hood) flew open and wrapped itself round 
the widscreen and roof on mine.  That 'temporary' repair lasted a good 5 
years!

To be fair, when I was installing mine some years back the tuck-it-back-under method was what I read or was told.  I thought it was ill advised so I did NOT do it that way but it is certainly what I was told.

I also checked the Austin Healey Sprite Concours Guidelines and there is no mention of the windshield seal being folded under.  If the cars came from the factory that way it would certainly be mentioned in the Concours Guidelines.  They go into great detail on markings on the heads of the screws securing the windshield to the pillars and the seal on the glass to frame as well as the markings on the glass, but simply say there was a rubber seal between the windshield frame and scuttle.
