The Maxwell Smart Sunbeam was built in Phoenix Arizona for the TV series. It is an Alpine with Tiger badging, and a wooden "machine gun" bodged into the bonnet. There wasn't room for a V8 and the gun, so they used the 4-banger.The work was attributed to Dick Carbajal who was a local G-production Spitfire racer. He was known as "finger tight" for the obvious reason. He was rumored to have never used a torque wrench.
