Do not blame Howes for the Ford look!  If you look at his original design, 
it looked nothing like a T-Bird.  Here's a shot:

In fact, the peaked rims, the more upright windshield and car all were 
after he designed it and purportedly all by the Rootes family.

And, yes, the fins were chopped in Italy, by I think Superleggera.  I have 
the exact company in a book at home.
