Sometimes you can use clay forced into an area to make a readable impressiom. I'm not sure if it will work here.  You might also try a paper impression. Again, if possible,  try slipping a piece of paper (carbon paper I think would work well) into the area and use a cake spatula to rub.  Not sure if it would work, buy worth a try.
