That will work as a first approximation. However, for optimum airflow
the fan should have the convex sides of the blades facing into the
direction of flow (i.e, forward). Some fans have reversible blades, and
other don't. If the blades aren't reversible AND the fan was originally
designed as a puller then you might be better off just leaving it out of
the car and not having the obstruction.

I think you can just reverse the leads and the fan will run the other
way, some of the fans are designed to run either way.
