Tom,

There's lots to this car that doesn't add up. To the guy's credit, he's not
calling it a Mark II, but the VIN  and the body features don't match. It could
be an early '67 (Mk 1A) except that the VIN conflicts.

If his restorer just swapped things from the rusted hulk, including the VIN
plate, where'd the 1A stuff come from, or was it the owners preference to change
to the 1A look, keep the side 'Sunbeam" emblems, ditch the rear 1/4 Rootes emblems,
and use Mk 1 / 1A seats instead of the Mk 2 seats

On the plus side, if the successful bidder knows what he's/she's getting, it's
no worse than someone choosing a Factory Five replicar over a real Shelby Cobra
because they can get into it for less money, if indeed the eventual high bid
for this car stays in the mid-teens.
