[Tigers] Heterosexuals and Miatas

The image stigma of a Miata is difficult to escape, but my Miata is the last car of my "toys" that I'd give up. Back in the 90's I shared a friends Miata for auto-cross, then years of track days in my own Miata as student and instructor, and now I run Spec Miata in addition to my street car (and my auto-X buddy now runs a team of ~7 cars in the Playboy MX-5 Cup SCCA Pro series.)

My 6 year old kids love the Miata, though only one can ride with me at a time. My wife tolerates it more than the Tiger (Tiger's too loud and scary fast).

If you're a true hard core enthusiast driver, you need to own a Miata (or if you have the $$$ a Lotus Elise/Exige.) If the image thing bothers you too much, that's your problem, not the cars.
