I think the 3" pipe is the issue, you are complaining of a droning sound at
a lower RPM range which is a typical issue with al the jap cars that run
large pipes on normal motors. I think gogint o t a smaller pipe would
probably solve the problem and even at 2.25 i doubt you would loose power..
its quite possible you might gain some torque.
