Jim,
The industrial hardware "bible" is McMaster-Carr. They are my go-to for
hardware. They take credit cards and you can set up a dummy company
account easily.

Here's just their 7/16-20 threaded rod selection:

Subject: [Tigers] bolts and hardware

Hello,

After going to my local Ace hardware store and finding they didn't have
about half of what I need for my bumper project, I'm asking:

Can I get suggestions for online hardware/fastener suppliers, please?
I'm
finding 7/16 UNF and 1/2 UNF in the lengths I need, to be a bit of a
challenge. A source that is EASY to use would suite me best. I've been
challenged by what I came up with on a Google search.

Thanks in advance,
