True OEM dual-pattern aluminum bellhousings are pretty rare, and they'd still
require you to use an input bearing retainer spacer ring (or the input bearing
retainer from a later transmission). Most of the 6-bolt block to narrow
pattern toploader bellhousings were made by welding in aluminum blocks and
then drilled and threaded to accept the narrow pattern transmission.

The two-piece bellhousings have SFI approval, which is good for peace of
mind...
