Michael, I'm delighted you remember the article, since I'm the author. I
just sent a link to the antenna that I used. Hope others' experience is also
positive with this item. Fairly cheap so worth a try.

In a CAT newsletter about 2-3 years back there was an article about
instyalling one that went around the windscreen frame and just above
the rearview mirror.. will see if i can dig it up.
