Andy,

B382001570 came (new) with the later-style trim ring. I don't recall seeing
any but the 'X' style on MKIs and the later style on MKIAs. Pretty sure you
have the correct set for your car.

Andy

Although TBON does not give an exact VIN, your number seems well before the
estimated switchover that occurred somewhere around "...a very few late
382XXXXX vehicles." I know that is just another interpretation...but I think
it is a correct one.

The Parts Manual gives some information that conflicts with TBON. It says
the Tiger Wheel Trim Part # 1224813 was used up until 9473167. Beginning
with
9473168 the Wheel Trim Part number used was 1206741. If you then look in the
Alpine Section you will see that 2nd Part number is the same as the trim
rings used on the Alpine. This confirms the second part of the TBON entry
that says the trims on the Tiger became the same as those used on the
Alpine. This information further confirms that your car was produced well
after the switchover.

Whichever you believe, that is good news for you, because I have been
searching for a set of the original criss-cross pattern rings for the past
couple of years now...without success. I actually have the original set but
they are pretty chewed up and I have been looking for replacements in better
condition.

Subject: [Tigers] Wheel trim rings and VINs

Hey, guys:

I'm trying to determine which style of stock wheel trim rings would have
been on my Tiger, B382001600, when it was new. I've consulted TBON but it
sort of leaves the answer a bit open to interpretation as to which were
original. Basically, I have a nice set of the later-style trim rings but
they were purchased by me a number of years ago. Are these correct for my
car or should I be trying to locate some of the earlier "X" pattern rings?

Thanks for any input,

Andy Walker
