[Tigers] trailers

we have both an open car trailer and an enclosed trailer. both trailers are
dual axle with electric brakes. the open trailer is an 18' solid deck and has
fenders but the doors do open out over the fenders. the closed trailer is 16'
inside length. there are other types of open trailers with sides on them but
these are not trailers designed for hauling cars. some open trailers such as
featherlite have fenders that swing down. I tow with a ford van and a gmc suv.
I use weight distributing hitches on both vehicles and also sway bars. if
properly equipped you don't have a problem if you blow a tire on a dual axle
trailer. I made a trip to a show in s. Carolina last spring and had a tire
come apart at 75 mph but had no problems. just a few dents to the fender. I
can pull either of my trailers with one tire and wheel off. my closed trailer
rides on rubber torsion blocks and the open trailer has what could be referred
to as a walking beam setup. i also have a winch on each trailer with the power
coming thru the seven way connector. my advise is to look for something
designed for cars and not equipment. my trailers have 3500 lb axles under them
since i never haul anything but LBC's.
