I did not see this reply come through so I'm sending it again to the Tigers
List.

Andy
	Due to the random order engines were installed into the Tiger body;
the Vin # means little. TBON information is a great starting point but not
a precise starting point for engine color.

	Ford controlled the color engine blocks were painted. Engine
assembly date code and engine tag numbers are a better place to look to
determine the paint color.

	The engine tag will have 260 66 9; the assembly date code will
indicate a fall of 1965 build code for engines painted blue.

	I'm always looking for more information about the B19KC engine group
and all the Tiger Engine groups. I have an Original Tiger Engine Study work
sheet that's easy to fill out - just ask and I will send one.

Alex / Tom;

Ron has done some pretty exhaustive research on this subject; it has also
been discussed on this forum over the years. In addition, Norm Miller's
"TBON" also confirms the blue paint on the engines of later-production
Tigers. I don't have my copy in front of me so I can't quote serial numbers
at to when this started, but I'm sure Ron can...and off the top of his head,
to boot...

Take it away, Ron,
