Rob
I just sent mine off this week, plus the 2 small pieces that attach to windshield for the convertible top.  These are pot metal and not a whole of places do pot metal any more as I am finding out.
I can send some pictures after I get them back.  It has been a number of years since removal, so cannot really remember all the steps.
RegardsJoel Martin

MessageRobI have no experience with replating that part. Removal - its been a long time since I looked at this - here is a guide but be careful in case I forgot a step 1st you have to get that part off the door - at least 2 screws - don't force it or the finisher will break - look for more screws if it seem stuckRemove the glass channel run feltNow there is a series of small screws in pairs - flat blade - at least 6 screws and at least 1 small "L" bracketCareful with the small screws - you don't want to break the screws or strip the heads2 screws in the run channel2 screws directly below there on the finisher2 screw at the front edge of the chromeThere could be 2 more screws - not sureFinisher should come off the glass now - be very careful with thisNow the glass has to be carefully wiggled and pulled out I'm not sure if soaking the whole part in ATF would help or not but you may want to put some on the threads you can see.The ATF might help with getting the glass out but not sure.Maybe others have better tips for this complete process. Seems to me I saw a tip about the rubber glazing around that glass - the original glazing is very thin - one person recommended electrical tape. Good luckRon Fraser    -----Original Message-----

Subject: [Tigers] Door Chrome Chrome Replating

Does anyone have experience in replating the triangular fixed window chrome?  How is the triangular piece of glass removed for the plating process?     Rob Hogan
