[Tigers] Tigers Digest, Vol 7, Issue 287 carb fire

Hello all,
 
In the late 90's I had a carb fire that sounded like Stu's. Seem's  that 
the carb backfired/puked gas onto the paper filter element.
 
Poof. Roasted the hood before I could get it out. Wiring OK. Broke  
original mirror by hooking it on my pants as I rushed to the passenger side  to get 
hood open. Had Halon which put it out. Now have F4B and Holley 465 on  
motor. No more carb backfire/puking.
