If the shifting is hard you may need new internals, the shift blocker
rings wear and cock on the shafts causing binding. I would first try some
Redline MT-90 GL4 oil, that has worked well for me.

It could be the linkage and it might just need to be aligned, a simple
process using a 1/4" drill bit if it's out of the car.

If there is oil leaking and it's not coming from the shifter shafts then
it's the top seal. Easy to replace if tranny is out of car.

I've done a couple and converted a CR to the Mk II WR. It's easier then the
Dana Salisbury to rebuild.
