I used one those cube type fuel pumps, Puralator brand, with
low psi rating. The majority of this type pump exceed the original pump
flow rate of 15 gallon per hour. Noise is similar to original pump.

I set it up in the trunk similar to the Mk II with a small clear, cleanable
fuel filter and a Marine shut off valve. This requires a good deal of work
replacing and working new lines.

You might want to consider an original style pump with electronic points.
They are a bit pricy but would just fit right in place of the original pump.
I looked for just the electronic point replacement board and there are kits
out there but I could not find them for sale; maybe they are for sale now.

5/16 fuel line is more than adequate to feed the stock 2 bbl.

1224792 Plate - Pipe carrier

1229865 Angle - Pipe clip support RHD

1224791 Angle - Pipe clip support LHD

C3OZ-9180-A is available from NPD and others and can go under a lower
generator bolt hole - this bracket will stabilize the vertical line run to
the fuel filter

1229865 or 1224791 is at the forward Rt side of the block using a 7/16 bolt

1224792 is flat steel stock with a grommet

All of these brackets together will help stabilize and secure the fuel line.

>From you know who, lol. I love to ask the group about the cars and
experiences. So much info out there!

This question revolves around the fuel system. So, I would like to ask the
list about

1. The fuel pump. If you have replaced your fuel pump and the car is
virtually stock what pump did you use as there placement? How noisy is it?
Does it do the job reliably? Was it easy to install? Remember this is for a
box stock 260 motor pretty close to as delivered by Ford.

2. Have any of you upgraded the fuel plumbing to feed the above listed
pump? I am currently thinking that I need a new one from the hose joint
connection down under the generator up to the filter just before the carb.
I think I have enough AN fittings to make a new one but not OEM looking.

3. Have any of you put a filter in line before the pump to catch junk
from the tanks? If so, what did you use? I have seen some large Fram glass
bowl types but something more shatter proof might be best? Like a big EFI
fuel filter?

Love to hear from ya'll on how you replaced stock stuff with maybe better
stuff with small impact to the install side (i.e. an easy install, lol)
